Yorkshire’s food and hospitality industries to be showcased in Harrogate

Yorkshire’s food and hospitality industries are set to welcome the world to Harrogate on as they join forces to showcase Yorkshire’s best food and hospitality at the Vive le Tour Dinner at the Royal Hall, Harrogate.

Welcome to Yorkshire are working with Visit Harrogate, Destination Harrogate, Harrogate International Centre, Harrogate Borough Council and suppliers from across the Yorkshire will convene on July 5 for the event.

300 guests including leading figures from the organising body of the Tour de France, the ASO, cycling legends and guests from across the UK will experience a tour of the “best food in Yorkshire.”

Peter Banks, managing director of Rudding Park and vice chairman of Visit Harrogate said: “Yorkshire has a vibrant and innovative food scene however, it is the people behind the produce that has impressed me most.

“The generosity and creativity of suppliers has been phenomenal from prime cuts of meat, fish and poultry tobaby veg and Yorkshire beer. Everyone is full of ideas and excited to be involved in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

“It is our intention to create a real sense of food theatre within the theatre.”

Stephanie Moon, chef consultant for Rudding Park who has devised the menu along with Matthew Wilkinson, Rudding Park’s Development Chefexplains: “Our producers give us produce that sparkles with freshness, has integrity and some real soul behind it.

“I am fiercely proud of our Yorkshire produce and this dinner provides a perfect chance to show the world why food in Yorkshire is a force to be reckoned with.”

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said; “We have a world class venue for our Vive Le Tour Dinner and thanks to some of the best food suppliers in Yorkshire we will have a world class gala dinner. It will be a proud night for Yorkshire.”
