State-of-the-art health centre opens in Liverpool

Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust (LCH) has opened a new, state-of-the-art health centre for residents, commuters and visitors to the city centre.

Known as The BEAT, the centre will enable the Trust to provide a wider range of services all together in one centralised location which has been designed specially to deliver modern healthcare services to the city region’s residents.

A number of the Trust’s city health services have relocated to the centre including, Merseyside’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre, SAFE Place which provides a vital service to victims of sexual assault.

Other services which have relocated to the centre include Abacus Sexual Health Service which will now provide patients with a new online self-booking system for appointments, Liverpool’s City Walk-In Centre, and The Armistead Centre, a specialist LGBT health service.

The BEAT also includes a brand new, interactive Health Information Centre, providing members of the public with drop-in access to free, professional information and advice on a wide range of healthy living issues, such as stopping smoking, health eating and getting active.
