5 ways to increase your business with corporate identity

Your corporate identity is essentially your business’ image, how it is viewed by the public. When you are first starting out, you may not worry too much about your corporate identity, being more focused on establishing lines of credit and finance, fighting for those first few all-important contracts and getting your fledgling company off the ground, but it is not something that should be ignored for long! As soon as you can, turn your attention to your brand image and choose a good logo, corporate colours and draft out a simple mission statement to tell everyone what your company stands for, and what follows are five good reasons why you should!

Company Image

Design a clear but powerful logo and decide early on if you want your staff to wear uniforms. While they are an added expense, a uniform can be a boon to a business. A uniform take the stress out of choosing what to wear every morning and also ensure that the entire employee base looks and feels like part of a team. But uniforms also work to establish your corporate identity in the eyes of customers too, so having a uniform can work as a form of advertising, associating your company image with good products and services that provide value for money.

Gifts and Stationery

Have some stationery printed out and invest in some corporate gifts, all with the company logo emblazoned on them. Properly printed stationery looks very professional, which is reassuring to customers, and corporate gifts work surprisingly well to spread the word about your products and services. You can choose from cheap gifts like pens or drinks coasters, produced in their hundreds and thousands, to attract new customers, or you can invest in a limited number of more expensive gifts, like leather portfolios, gold trimmed diaries and more expensive pens, for your very best customers.

Mission Statement

Have a clearly stated company policy about charity work (this can be fundraising or donations or you can invite your employees to lend a hand at fairs, charity events and similar tasks) using eco-friendly, sustainable products and reducing the company’s carbon footprint. Have this policy written down and make sure that all new employees understand your motives. Be absolutely certain that you can adhere to these principles and enforce them rigorously – little ruins a company’s reputation that being caught out in a fib.

Be Trusted

Consumers tend to be quite wary these days, especially when sourcing new products or services. However, at the same time they will look at a much wider range of services and products before choosing. Once they have found a supplier for their needs, they tend to be more loyal than not, so make sure that your corporate identity is one that inspires trust in potential customers from the beginning. Once you have an order from this new customer, ensure their loyalty by providing a good service, and following it up by offering a strong after-sales service. Happy customers tell their friends about good service and, increasingly important these days, leave glowing reviews on your website, helping you to grow your business effortlessly!

Brand Recognition

Finally and perhaps most importantly, is the matter of brand recognition. To be known as the best supplier in your local area will bring in plenty of work, and you can help this by making sure that your logo is instantly associated with the services or products that you offer. Invest in advertising to attract attention, and keep your promises to keep new customers loyal! All of the above pointers will help to get your corporate identity known to future customers. Once you are accepted as trustworthy and widely recognised, you are sure to benefit by seeing your business grow exponentially. It may seem unscientific, but it is a proven fact that having a strong corporate image can only help a business to grow and prosper – you literally have nothing to lose!
