LCF Law, Tom Coates, Sarah Buxton and Matthew Jones

Yorkshire based legal firm LCF Law, has boosted its dedicated healthcare services with the appointment of a specialist team to provide expert legal advice to the dental sector.

Tom Coates joins as a partner, Sarah Buxton as an associate and Matthew Jones as a legal assistant.

Simon Stell, managing partner at LCF Law, says: “We already have a solid reputation in the healthcare sector, working with several GP practices and pharmacists, and having Tom, Sarah and Matthew on board will enable us to continue building on this as we expand into the dental market, which requires its own very unique and specialist advice.

hlw Keeble Hawson, is further strengthening its commercial and private client teams in Sheffield and Doncaster with four internal promotions to partner.

In the commercial department the new partners are dispute resolution specialists Sarah Burton, based in Doncaster, and Roisin McCory, from the firm’s Commercial House office, Sheffield who has particular expertise in disputes involving intellectual property and information technology.

New partners in the private client team in Sheffield are partners Owen Brown, a personal injury lawyer, and Alex Guy, who specialises in court of protection work and who is the only court of protection-appointed deputy in South Yorkshire.

Managing partner Paul Trudgill commented: “These four new partners have a wealth of experience and specialist skills. They have already made significant contributions to the firm’s success and will be integral parts of the firm’s future growth and development.

Ernst & Young, Sophie Colloby

EY has strengthened its Transaction Support team (TS) in Yorkshire with the appointment of assistant director Sophie Colloby and two promotions, as conditions in the region’s deals market continue to improve.

A Chartered Accountant, Colloby joins the Leeds-based practice following spells in EY offices in Reading, London and Nottingham during her 11 years in the firm’s TS team.

Sophie Colloby said: “With its experienced and dedicated team, strong brand and excellent deal credentials, the Yorkshire TS team has a significant opportunity to grow as conditions in the regional corporate finance arena rally with the wider economy.

Louise Richmond and Sophie Wright have also been promoted to the positions of assistant director and executive respectively, representing further investment in the Yorkshire TS team.

Aberfield PR, Rebecca Armstrong and Christian Dente

Leeds-based PR and social media agency Aberfield Communications has headhunted industry rising stars Rebecca Armstrong and Christian Dente to its team.

Both Leeds Metropolitan University PR graduates, Rebecca was previously Public Relations and Sponsorship Activation Manager at First Direct Arena, while Christian joins from London PR agency Grayling.

Phil Reed, managing director, said: “It’s difficult enough to find one person who you know will make a significant impact. To find two as talented as Christian and Rebecca is a huge coup for us. It says a lot about the reputation we have in the industry.”

MK Things Happen, Anna Simmons

Yorkshire PR agency MK Things Happen has strengthened its team following several new business wins.

The Sheffield-based agency has appointed University of Sheffield graduate Anna Simmons as Account Executive.

This follows the arrival of Account Manager Kelly Spencer who joined the MK team in March after four years in the press office at Sheffield Wednesday.

PR Director Ashlea McConnell said: “We are delighted to welcome two new members to Team MK having continued to grow our portfolio over the last 12 months.

“They have joined at a very exciting time for the agency after a number of new business wins, and have given MK the potential to expand even further in the coming year.”

The Kelham Island based agency, owned and run by Caroline Woffenden, currently represents a diverse range of established clients including Meadowhall, McCain Foods and Elevation Recruitment.

BNP Paribas Real Estate, Edward Pawley (Sheffield)

BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Edward Pawley as a senior surveyor within its Sheffield valuation team.

Edward, who was previously a senior surveyor at GP Surveyors, has more than 12 years’ experience working as a chartered surveyor within the region, latterly with a particular focus within the UK healthcare sector.

Mark Thompson, senior director within BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Sheffield valuation team and head of the firm’s national corporate valuation service, comments: “The addition of Edward to the existing team gives us added strength and depth, due to his proven track record, ensuring that our clients’ needs are expertly managed.”

In the last 18 months, BNP Paribas Real Estate has brought in more than 50 senior people, helping the company to accelerate as a major player in the UK, in keeping with its European leadership position.

CBRE, Anton Burton

The Leeds office of CBRE has appointed Anton Burton as Assistant Surveyor within its Specialist Markets team. Anton joins as a graduate from Manchester University and will be working with the firm’s extensive and varied client base across the North of England.

Keycare, Katie Hurrell and Ros Marshall Smith

Keycare a provider of insurance for lost and stolen keys - has added two senior appointments to its growing team of specialists.

Financial controller, Katie Hurrell, and company solicitor, Ros Marshall Smith are the latest additions to the 37-strong team of the Shipley-based second generation family business.
