Redcar Enterprise Team is celebrate 12 months of success with event for small businesses

Redcar Enterprise Team is celebrating 12 months of success with a showcase event for local businesses.

The team, which is made up of skilled business coaches, has helped create more than 100 jobs and supported more than 200 companies in Redcar and Cleveland during the last 12 months.

The team has also helped scores of residents realise their dream of running their own business.

The event, at Tuned In, Redcar, on Tuesday, May 27, will be a celebration of the business growth that’s been achieved in the last 12 months, including companies creating jobs, moving premises, increasing their turnover and improving profitability.

Saltburn-based engineering firm Scurator is one of those exhibiting.

Greg Sills, managing director, set up the company seven years ago.

He said: “The team has been a huge help, I would recommend any entrepreneur or company looking to grow to get in touch with them.

“They can help with a wide range of subjects and if they can’t answer your questions they always put you in touch with people who can.”

Tony Chapman, from iSky Unmanned Systems, another company receiving support said: “They’ve been fantastic.

“Although I was previously a bank manager, I felt there was a lot I needed to learn about running my own business.

“So I did as many of their workshops as I could including marketing, media, sales, finance and social networking.

“They also helped us put our business plan together and even pointed us towards some funding, so they were valuable in absolutely every way.”

Cllr Mark Hannon said: “This is an anniversary worth celebrating. The team has helped firms to create more than 100 jobs and boosted the performance of scores of companies.

“That success brings with it wealth and prosperity to families within Redcar and Cleveland and to the local economy. A job well done!”

The Enterprise Team offers Redcar and Cleveland businesses 12 hours of free tailored support – dubbed the Dynamic Dozen.

The team also holds a free business networking event every month which regularly attracts around 40 companies.
