MERJE grows turnover to £1.7 million in year of rapid growth
Manchester-based recruitment consultancy MERJE has grown its turnover by 4.5 times the previous year’s performance – posting annual figures of £1.7 million for 2012/13.
The firm has increased its client base by 25% in the past 12 months and aims to achieve £3 million turnover this year.
Launched in 2011, the firm focuses on recruiting mid to senior-level candidates for permanent and contract roles in finance, compliance, anti-money laundering, fraud, internal audit, risk and customer contact.
The independent firm operartes offices in both Manchester and London.
Director, Jonathan Abelson, said: “Our overwhelming growth is attributed to the firm’s unique understanding of the specialty recruitment market and our experienced team of industry professionals.
“Each member of our senior staff has an extensive background in their target sector, providing dedicated expertise to our network of clients and candidates.”
Jonathan Abelson added: “Recruitment is very much a people business. As the North West economy recovers, the need for experienced mid to senior-level candidates in financial services and related sectors will continue to increase, making the market for top talent more competitive.
“Many of our earliest clients have chosen to stay with us because of our ability to call upon our vast network and provide high-quality candidates with specialised skills and experience.”
Building upon its successful growth, MERJE is committed to strengthening the business by further investing in staff with specialist financial services experience in areas such as compliance, fraud and risk management.
The company – increasing from three to 13 staff in its first two years – has a 100% employee retention rate and plans to add an additional five members to its team by the end of 2014.
