Cycle or walk to work green points scheme in Warrington
Staff across Warrington are being encouraged to sign up to a new green travel website and app.
Employees can sign up to Stravel and record their cycling, walking or public transport journeys.
They can then track how many calories they’ve burned, how much carbon they’ve saved, and then earn points to redeem against regularly updated retailers.
Stravel is funded through Warrington Borough Council’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) programme to incentivise more people to use green transport to travel to work.
A mobile-friendly app version is also available to log journeys on the go.
Cllr Linda Dirir, executive board member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “This is a great new tool for workplaces to use to encourage eco-friendly transport.
“You can even compete against other businesses as miles clocked will be added together with colleagues.”
