Students given the opportunity to learn new skills in Spain
City of Liverpool College apprentices have been given the chance to work in Granada Spain, as part of a new Leonardo Da Vinci project (LAIS).
The LAIS project gives students in catering, hospitality and tourism the chance to gain work experience and training in Spain during a four week placement.
The EU funded project has been created by the Eldonian Group in conjunction with Mobility European Projects Granada (MEP) and The City of Liverpool College.
16 students have headed out to Granada and will be working in placements including hotels and restaurants.
Placements include working for some of the best hotels in Granada including the Hotel Nazaries Palace (5 star) and the Michelin starred Restaurante La Fabula. The placements will provide a mix of experiences for the students including training in hospitality and catering, Spanish language, culture and history.
Brian Hough, lecturer at the City of Liverpool College said: “The LAIS project is a great initiative which isn’t only a rich experience for students, it will also give them vital skills and training and a better understanding of how their chosen sectors work on the continent, from which they can learn things to benefit their own careers in the UK.”
