Manchester financial consultant earns award for excellence in elderly care fees planning
Financial consultant, Graham Tracey – of Manchester-based financial services firm Carpenter Rees – was honoured at the Symponia Crystal Dolphin Awards for his expertise and commitment to advising elderly people, and their families, on the complex workings of care fees planning.
As a member of Symponia – the industry body which was formed to safeguard standards of later life financial planning – Graham was named the overall winner of Best Case Study by an Aspiring Member.
Sarah Pennells, journalist and founder of Savvywoman.co.uk, hosted the Awards at Symponia’s National Conference on 13 May at The Royal Horseguards in London. The conference was attended by around 120 professionals from the long term care and later life professions.
Graham Tracey, consultant at Carpenter Rees, said: “Care fees planning is a very challenging environment. Providing cohesive financial advice for what is arguably one of the most difficult – and distressing – life stages requires a great deal of commitment and dedication.
“The right financial advice can literally change lives and there are many more options available now. Day to day, the work itself is very rewarding, but it is always nice to get official recognition, so I am very pleased to receive this award.”
Graham has many years’ experience as a financial consultant and has described working closely with older people on their later life financial needs as ‘unexpectedly uplifting’. He takes pride in building long term relationships and sees most of his clients in their own homes, often with the whole family present, in order to work out the best solutions.
