Wahu! Another tasty account clinched by Tangerine
Manchester-based Tangerine PR has been signed up by young entrepreneur, Jamie Barr, to launch his new food bar brand, Wahu.
Barr has taken on the agency to support the launch of the brand, focusing initially on the opening of its very first location in Spinningfields.
Following a £300K investment, the 1,300 square foot Wahu site will take the place of Eat on The Avenue. The food bar will offer fresh ‘design your own’ meals, with the option for customers to dine in or take out.
Tangerine’s consumer team will launch the Wahu brand, through a strategic campaign targeting those who live and work in Spinningfields and the surrounding areas.
The campaign aims to communicate the brand’s key messages through bold direct- to-consumer and experiential activity, as well as media and blogger engagement – designed to capture the attention of this typically busy and savvy target market.
This aims to build the Wahu brand name – making it synonymous with fresh, satisfying food – aiding with Jamie’s ambitious business plan to open 10 restaurants over the next few years.
Jamie Barr said: “As a new business it is important to work with a team which understands our vision and values and can help build a strong brand.
“From the outset Tangerine demonstrated a real understanding and with their past experience of implementing successful PR campaigns for the hospitality and retail industry, they were the obvious choice.”
Mary Harding, MD of Tangerine PR’s consumer team, added: “At Tangerine we only work with brands we believe in and we feel Wahu is an exciting, vibrant business that will bring something fresh to Manchester city centre.
“Our aim is to help Jamie and his team build and expand the brand in line with his impressive business plan. This will involve working together closely, both pre and post launch to ensure the audience understands the Wahu brand.
“We are excited to be approaching this new challenge with a strategic campaign that will make the brand stand out in a busy market.”
