Utilitywise secure key Onyx Group contract and national partnerships

Energy management specialists Utilitywise have secured a contract with North East-based Onyx Group to improve energy efficiency across their data centre and IT infrastructure operations.

South Shields-based Utilitywise will install their digital technology, Utility Insight, at Onyx, which will convert data from utility meters, sub-meters and monitoring systems into easy-to-use infromation on consumption.

Utilitywise will also provide retrospective and ongoing bill checking, flexible energy procurement and fixed price energy deals that are secured at the right time to achieve the best energy deal available.

Geoff Thompson, CEO of Utilitywise, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Onyx Group who have a fantastic reputation in their industry and within the business community. It’s also a pleasure to be working with such an exceptional CEO as Neil Stephenson who has had tremendous success at his company.”

CEO of Onyx Group Neil Stephenson said: “We’re in an industry that uses a lot of energy, so it made sense to bring in energy consultants to advise on how we can reduce our energy consumption.

“We want to give our customers the best possible service at the right cost, which means offering exceptional service that is energy efficient.

“We have a lot in common with Utilitywise and they were the only company we wanted to work with on this aspect of our business.”

The contract follows two new national partnership deals for Utilitywise - one with the British Chambers of Commerce and with South West Water’s Source for Business.

Utilitywise will work on a new pilot project with participating Chambers of Commerce to deliver energy and water reduction solutions to firms - alongside a product to allow all participating firms, regardless of size, to take advantage of price movements within the wholesale energy market.

Source for Business has joined Utilitywise’s Partner Channel - which will see put Utilitywise’s services in front of 60,000 business customers of South West Water.

Commenting on the two partnerships, Geoff Thompson, CEO of Utilitywise, said: “We are delighted to announce these important additions to our Partner Channel. Utilities are a key cost for all businesses, big and small, and managing these costs efficiently is a major challenge.

“Our products allow us to offer business customers a comprehensive energy and water management solution and we are confident that this will benefit our partners’ customers as well asincrease the number of businesses we can help.”
