O PR add to growing client list with Lakes Distillery
Newcastle PR agency O PR have secured England’s newest and largest distillery as their lasted client in a string of contract wins.
The Ouseburn-headquartered agency will provide national, international and trade PR for the launch of The Lakes Distillery and its whisky, gin and vodka products.
A launch campaign covering media relations, product placement, media events, journalist visits, blogger engagement and product-led promotions will take place ahead of the official opening, later this year.
The team is working closely with the distillery’s senior management, which includes leading names within the world of whisky, to directly influence sales of its exclusive Connoisseurs Club and Founders Club membership packages for whisky enthusiasts and investors.
Kari Owers, managing director at O, said: “This is an exciting time in English whisky production and we are in an enviable position to be able to be part of what will become distilling history.
“The Lakes Distillery is a fantastic business story of entrepreneurship, job creation, British manufacturing and export sales success, and we’re looking forward to watching it mature.”
Based on the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria, The Lakes Distillery will be England’s largest whisky distillery with a capacity to produce one million bottles a year of The Lakes Malt, in addition to The Lakes Gin and The Lakes Vodka alongside The ONE, the distillery’s unique blend of exceptional whiskies from across the British Isles.
Employing 25 people, the Distillery itself will be a major visitor attraction for The Lake District, forecasted to attract 50,000 visitors per annum.
