BDO LLP (Sheffield) Lucy Sauvage

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced Lucy Sauvage as the new head of tax in Sheffield.

Craig Burton, partner and head of BDO in Sheffield, said: “Lucy’s appointment is very well deserved. Our clients are in an increasingly strong position to take advantage of the opportunities a recovering market presents, and top notch tax advice is crucial to that.

Hentons, Shabab Gulfraz

Leeds based accountancy firm, Hentons has appointed Shabab Gulfraz as a financial advisor to join its growing wealth management operation.

Commenting on the expansion Nadeem Ahmed, managing partner of Hentons said: “Our ambition is to provide everything our clients need under one roof, from accountancy to tax advice and wealth management, which has shown strong growth thanks to an experienced team.”

LEBC, Jeremy MacLeod (pictured above)

Hull based Jeremy MacLeod has been appointed chief operating officer of the national IFA, pensions and employee benefits consultancy, LEBC Group with responsibility for sales, marketing, operations and IT.

On his appointment Jeremy said, “These are exciting times of opportunity for LEBC and I am relishing the chance to play my part in the future direction and evolution of the business.”

Jack McVitie, LEBC’s chief executive said, “As our business continues to grow on a national stage, particularly within financial and retirement planning and pensions auto-enrolment, we felt it was important to have a Chief Operating Officer within our corporate structure. Having been with us for over 14 years, Jeremy understands fully the LEBC culture, ethos and ambitions and is perfect for this newly created position.”

Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking (Leeds) Ralph Edwards

Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has bolstered its presence in Yorkshire by appointing Ralph Edwards to the role of relationship director.

Edwards, who hails from Moortown, will be joining the Lloyds Bank team at their Leeds headquarters. He will look after clients based in the North and West Yorkshire areas with turnovers in excess of £100 million, offering financial guidance and direction to support growth.

Steve Harris, area director for Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking in the region, said: “The strength of our team in Yorkshire reflects the dynamism of the business community here in the region.

“We are actively contributing to the successes of companies in the area by increasing our lending, and maintaining close relationships with our clients means we can do this in the most effective way.”

Newtons Solicitors, Kirsty Nelson (pictured above)

Newtons Solicitors has expanded its Family Law Team. Family law specialist Kirsty Nelson who specialises in divorce and childcare issues, joins the practice from North East firm, Hewitts Solicitors, as a senior solicitor.

She will work throughout Newtons office network which includes Yorkshire offices in Knaresborough, Harrogate, York, Ripon and Leyburn.

Cerberus Group, Richard Parkin

Asset management and debt recovery management provider, Cerberus Group, has made Richard Parkin a director two years after he joined the company to set up its Leeds office.

Director of Cerberus, Simon Merrett said: “As an ambitious and forward thinking group part of our strategy is to increase our presence in the UK with the opening of additional offices outside our North West heartland,” he said.

“We chose Leeds for our first office, as it is the UK’s main financial, legal and business services centre outside London.

Chamber International, Robin Tones

A new senior appointment has been made by fast-growing overseas trade specialist, Chamber International, to keep pace with demand for help from companies wishing to export.

Robin Tones, a former business coach at Kirklees Youth Enterprise Centre, where he helped young entrepreneurs set up creative businesses, has been appointed Enterprise Europe Network business adviser and will support small businesses wanting to access new overseas markets with a free match-making process connected to more than 600 network groups in 50 Countries.

Lancaster Samms, Elkie Buckland

Independent estate agents, Lancaster Samms Ltd, has expanded its team with a new appointment.

Elkie Buckland has been appointed sales consultant, handling enquiries from visitors and by telephone, conducting property viewings and assisting with valuations.

Charlie Lancaster, a member of the National Association of Estate Agents, says: “We’ve seen continuous growth since we launched and the increasing confidence in the housing market, including from developers, has led us to make this appointment which will free up the directors’ time for developing the business.”

Carter Jonas, David Boulton

Property consultancy Carter Jonas has appointed partner David Boulton to head up its Northern planning team.

Based in Harrogate, the Northern planning team operates from offices in Harrogate, Leeds, York and Kendal in conjunction with agency and development surveying colleagues.

David said: “I have been heavily involved in the promotion and management of our business in recent years and I’m delighted to be taking over the reins at this exciting time for the Northern planning team.

“This will enable a seamless transition for clients and open new opportunities for our multidisciplinary business helping to expand the established planning team yet further across the region.”

Garbutt & Elliot, Simon Palmer

Yorkshire accountancy firm, Garbutt & Elliott, has appointment Simon Palmer as partner as part of its strategic plan to expand its West Yorkshire operations and client base.

Russell Turner, Managing Director of Garbutt & Elliott said: “This is a very significant appointment for us. Simon is highly experienced and will further strengthen our position in Leeds and across West Yorkshire, including Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Halifax.”
