PwC relocates Sheffield offices

PwC in Sheffield has announced it is to relocate its 80 strong team to St Paul’s Place, a modern office development in the heart of the city centre.

The firm has had a presence in Sheffield for nearly 65 years, and has been based at its current office on East Parade for the last 25 years.

St Paul’s Place is a key element in the transformation of Sheffield City Centre. It adjoins The Millennium Galleries and The Winter Gardens and overlooks The Peace Gardens next to the Town Hall. PwC is now carrying out the substantial refurbishment of the office, which will be ready by October 2014.

PwC’s senior partner in Sheffield, Andy Ward commented: “St Paul’s Place will provide a first class working environment for our people and shows our continued commitment to the city and wider region.

“We wanted the relocation process to be an opportunity for our staff to have their say in how the new office should function and feel. We had great fun creating a space that has the identity of the region and is somewhere where people can collaborate and use technology to meet the demands of modern business working.

“It will also give us the additional space we need as we continue to recruit and attract the best talent and expand our client base. More than anything it will be somewhere we will be proud to welcome our staff, clients and our community partners.”

Ian Morrison, PwC’s Yorkshire & North East regional leader added: “Yorkshire continues to be an area of focus and investment for the firm.

“Our new Sheffield office will reflect our reputation as one of the leading professional services organisation in the city, by providing a distinctive and welcoming space that our people are proud to work in.

“The move comes at an exciting time for the region. Sheffield has characteristically weathered the recession and has some fantastic prospects such as the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and inward investment from the Enterprise Zones.

“There is buoyancy in the market with a number of local transactions creating headlines, as well businesses who have increased their international market presence.

“As a global firm with an established local presence we are well placed to support these businesses, to help them achieve their objectives, grow and support the wider economic recovery.”
