Hitachi Rail Systems forecasts £104 million orders in next year
Japanese conglomerate Hitachi says its Rail Systems business forecasts orders of ¥180 billion in its 2015 financial year - equivalent to £104 million.
The Japanese-based business which incorporates the Hitachi Rail Europe division and it’s £82 million train building factory at Newton Aycliffe forecasts a significant increase in the proportion of its revenue from overseas markets.
Hitachi is undertaking a restructuring of its portfolio - aiming to expand its services businesses and increase sales of signalling/traffic management systems.
The firm’s ‘2015 mid-term management plan’ showed the operating income ratio of the Rail business is set to increase by 7.5% in 2015.
