£1 million ‘smart home’ has been premiered in Yorkshire

A historic manor house in Yorkshire has been restored and renovated to become the most technologically advanced ‘smart home’ in the UK.

The £1 million show house features not only the very latest gadgets currently on the market, but also incorporates the world’s finest audio, cinema, lighting, security, IT and telecoms systems.

The technology allows an iPad or iPhone to operate lighting, electric blinds, gate entry, CCTV, security alarms and heating. The property even has a perimeter security barrier heat detection system.

The Manor House in Leeds was purchased by home technology specialists Finite Solutions so that they could demonstrate what is possible with home automation and how it can integrate with everyday life. The variety of technologies installed allows them to demonstrate systems from £5k up to £250k+.

Features include a fully fitted out basement cinema room complete with surround sound and tiered seating and a number of hidden TV screens that appear from behind panel walls and picture frames.

Whole house lighting is also 100% LED using zero energy.
