Barnsley financial planning firm creates jobs planning for further expansion

A Barnsley financial company is creating jobs and planning further expansion.

QED Financial Associates, based at a newly built commercial centre in Penistone, has added two jobs since moving to the Barnsley borough from Kirklees. The firm also plans to increase its number of advisors to eight.

The company specialises in all aspects of financial planning and advice and has been receiving business support from business coaches at Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre (BBIC) as part of the Enterprising Barnsley programme.

Director Wayne Harper said the firm had received exceptional support through the programme and had been appointed a business mentor to help drive a growth strategy. The company has also received help developing a new website.

“We identified Penistone as a location in which to expand because it has a large catchment area and a very active business community,” said Wayne.

“Securing highly visible high street offices was very important and we’ve since employed two staff from the local community. Our aim is to continue building the business.

“Our advice spans the whole of market and we offer totally independent advice on investments, pensions, savings, taxation and trusts. We’ve relocated to the Barnsley borough in order to create jobs and grow and the support we’ve received from the Enterprising Barnsley coaches has been superb.”

Kevin Steel, business development manager at Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre, which is providing business support through the Enterprising Barnsley programme, said: “We support hundreds of businesses across Barnsley and it is excellent to hear those companies are growing.

“We supported the company with a new website which coincided with the move and we’re pleased to be able to offer ongoing coaching and business development support.”

“QED Financial Associates made a conscious decision to relocate to Penistone and the company has been able to access high quality business support on offer through the Enterprising Barnsley programme.

“We supported the company with a new website which coincided with the move and we’re pleased to be able to offer ongoing coaching and business development support.”
