Wakefield telecoms firm NGC on target for £3.5 million turnover

Wakefield telecoms specialist NGC Networks is on target to achieve turnover of £3.5 million by the end of the summer, it has announced.

The business, which provides telephone systems and network services across the North of England, has enjoyed year-on-year growth since it was taken over in 2006.

Dean Harrop and Nigel Adams, who bought NGC Networks eight years ago, have overseen the turnaround in the company’s fortunes alongside fellow director Nikki Guest.

The £3.5 million forecast for the end of August will be up £1 million on 2012/13, compared to £400k when the business was acquired in 2006.

In the six months from September 2013, the firm billed 15.5 million phone calls, an increase of 103% on the previous six months. Over the same period, its customer base grew by 18%.

The business is currently recruiting in order to grow its workforce, based at Calder Park, and is actively involved in the region’s business community, sponsoring key events and initiatives. It has an ongoing sponsorship deal with Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

The firm’s client base includes Superbreak Holidays, Manning Stainton, Timpson, Puma UK, Animalcare, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Outwood Academy.

Dean Harrop said: “Our marketplace is highly competitive, and there is never room for complacency, but we firmly believe that a truly individual approach to each client, together with quality, on-going customer service has really made the difference and enabled us to achieve consistent year-on-year growth that’s also sustainable.”
