Get me to the church on time
It wasn’t just his new wife that bridgegroom Tom Evans thanked during his wedding speech – Stafford Land Rover received a special mention and got to feature in the spectacular wedding photographs.
Because due to a ‘slight logistical oversight’ by the groom, fiancée Gemma was left without a wedding car on the morning of the big day.
But all was not lost! Stafford Land Rover stepped in at the eleventh hour with a Land Rover Defender, adorned with ribbons and bows befitting the big day.
Dealer Principal at Stafford Land Rover, Darren Poole, takes up the story of how he turned wedding planner for the day: “We received a call from a customer of ours who owns some holiday cottages where a large wedding party were staying.
“But they weren’t calling to book a service or chat about changing their car - they needed our help and fast! The company supplying transport to their wedding guests had pulled out at the eleventh hour and even the bride was left wondering who would get her to the church on time!”
Darren pulled out all the stops, and provided Gemma were a gleaming Land Rover Defender decorated with wedding ribbon outside and flowers inside. He even provided a chauffeur for the day – his service advisor at Stafford Land Rover, Adam Smith.
Darren added: “We don’t normally rent out cars but there was no way I could let the bride’s day be spoilt. We wanted to make sure she ahd the car she deserved!”
Bridegroom Tom was full of praise for the Astonfield Road dealership, that is part of family owned and run business Swansway.
He said: “My wife and I would like to say a huge thank you to the excellent staff at Land Rover Stafford for their help with our wedding.
“The team stepped in and provided Gemma with a beautiful Defender. The car itself was incredible - smart, solid and impeccably presented - and Adam was a godsend as our chauffeur. “Service and hospitality like this are hard to find and we are indebted to Land Rover Stafford for helping make our day even more perfect.”
Stafford Land Rover is due to move to a £6.5m state of the art new dealership just off junction 14 of the M6 by the end of this year.
