Sofa, so good, as Sunderland firm opens London showroom
A North East sofa company is celebrating the opening of new London premises.
Luxury furniture crafting house, The Original Sofa Company, has opened the a new on Lower Sloane Street in Chelsea, London.
The Sunderland-born business is well known for its high quality, hand crafted furniture, becoming the only crafting house in Britain to produce pieces entirely using 19thC hand crafted methods and materials.
Owner David Robinson said: “The new showroom is incredibly exciting.
“Everybody knows Lower Sloane Street and its association with luxury and for us, it’s home from home.”
Nestled in amongst some of the world’s finest brands including Harrods, Prada and the famous Saatchi Gallery, The Original Sofa Company’s products are sure to be well received.
“There’s nothing like what we do already there,” added David.
“Our products are quite literally crafted on a personal level for our clients. There’s no production line of side-stepping mass production, these are true pieces of historic craftsmanship.”
The company’s crafting house and second showroom will remain at Team Valley, Gateshead.
