BLE Hits The Jackpot In Successful Installation At Future Financial Centre
A South Yorkshire based smoke and fire curtain manufacturer has announced the successful installation of its smoke and fire curtains at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Saudi Arabia.
Sheffield based BLE have worked with engineers from Buro Happold to design the compartmentation system in several towers, which were all successfully installed.
The KAFD is an ambitious project based near King Fahad Road in the Asahafa area of Riyadh being undertaken by the Rayadah Investment Corporation on behalf of the Pensions Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It will consist of 34 towers over an area of 1.6 million square metres. The entire district will comprise of an area of three million square metres and will house 12,000 residents.
The KAFD is the largest project in the world seeking green building accreditation, and when completed, it will boast a financial sector similar to the size of Canary Wharf in London.
Dave Millington, divisional director said: “We were delighted to be awarded the contract to install our smoke and fire curtains at the KAFD. Our systems will help provide paramount safety in what will be an important financial centre in the Middle East.
“Our fire and safety systems incorporate the latest in electronic technology making them first choice among designers, architects and engineers. Our contract at the KAFD adds to an already impressive portfolio across the Middle East.”
