Sheffield Council appoints Kier to £13 million maintenance contracts
Sheffield City Council has appointed Kier construction has been appointed to two maintenance contracts worth a total of £13 million.
Under a £9.8 million four-year deal the firm will provide new heating systems and adaptation works to homes across Sheffield.
The second £3.6 million contract runs for three years and will see Kier adapt and upgrade vulnerable and elderly people’s homes in the city.
The contractor has also announced the appointment of Kirsty Bashforth as a non-executive director.
Ms Bashforth, an economist who has 20 years’ experience with BP, will join the board in September.
Kier chairman Phil White said: “I am delighted that Kirsty is joining us as a member of the board.
“She will bring a breadth of skills and experience from her career at BP, which will be important to Kier, [such as] in health and safety matters and the continued implementation of business improvement measures throughout the business.”
