The Castledene Group is crowned UK’s best lettings agency
A growing North East company has won the title of Lettings Agency of the Year at the most prestigious national event in the industry’s calendar.
The Easington-based Castledene Group saw off competition from across the UK to be announced as the overall winner at Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2014, in association with The Sunday Times and The Times and sponsored by Zoopla Property Group.
This recognition of Castledene’s credentials marks the first time in the event’s five-year history that a business outside London has won the title.
The team travelled to the Lancaster London Hotel to attend the ceremony, at which 6,000 offices from across the UK were represented.
As well as being announced as the overall winner, Castledene scooped three Gold awards in the categories of Best Training and Development Lettings Agency, Best Medium Northern Lettings Agency, and Best UK Medium Lettings Agency.
The Castledene team accepted the awards from Katie Piper, the best-selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner who has rebuilt her life after surviving a brutal attack in which she had sulphuric acid thrown in her face.
Managing director John Paul said: “We’re so proud to have clinched the coveted title of Lettings Agency of the Year, and also to bring three further awards back to the North East from London.
This is the most sought after award in our industry, so it’s a real privilege to have been recognised, and our success is a testament to the hard work all the team have put in this year.
“As a business, we are continuing to grow and evolve. We opened a branch in Stanley last month which has already taken on more than 55 properties, and we’re planning further branch openings and acquisitions in the coming months.
“Winning these awards is a great boost for our team and we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2014 has in store.”
When presenting the awards to Castledene Group, the judging panel commented: “The panel is delighted to reward this agency for its efforts and achievements. It has managed to combine a profitable business with social enterprise and as a model operates almost entirely through helping others.
“The team works extremely hard to help people and imbue them with confidence and hope, and almost everything the judges saw exceeded expectations.”
The Castledene Group, which employs 35 members of staff, celebrated its fifth anniversary last year and manages more than 2,000 properties.
