New appointments herald further growth for Coda

Award-winning Sheffield architectural practice Coda Studios is continuing it programme of expansion with three new appointments.

Sheffield Hallam University graduates Kyle Emmerson, aged 25 and Luke Hudson, 20, join the company as trainee architect and architectural technologist.

And 22-year-old Sheffield University graduate Charles Dunn joins Coda Planning as a planning consultant, working alongside director of planning Adam Murray.

The appointments come as Coda continues an expansion that will see it reach a turnover of £1.5 million by the end of the financial year.

The company now employs 23 people at offices in Sheffield and Leeds with plans to open a new base in Manchester to meet the demands of a growing north west market.

“On top of these new appointments, we certainly aim to have two more new recruits by the end of the summer, with more to follow by the end of 2014,” said managing director David Cross.

“All parts of the Coda group – Coda Studios, Coda Planning and Coda Bespoke – have enjoyed a brilliant first half of the year and we now have a strong client list locally, nationally and internationally.

“Coda Bespoke, headed by Abel Hinchliffe, is a fine example of how we are developing new business all the time, with a fantastic 250 per cent growth this year and exciting projects in London and Paris as well as closer to home.

“With Coda Planning we are also experiencing a 100 per cent growth and are having to increase staffing levels to meet demand.

“We have seen the lean years and survived them and are now confident that there will be even greater growth in the year ahead.”
