Rail industry services firm TICS expands at Escrick

A rail industry signalling design and test services company is the latest business to take space at Escrick Business Park south of York. The move reflects the growing appeal of the business park as business confidence returns.

TICS (Global) Limited - one of the UK’s leading signal engineering providers - is expanding its York-operation which already employs around 30 people.

Its new 1760 sq ft unit at S Harrison’s Escrick Business Park on the A19 will house TICS’ signal equipment preparatory testing facilities.

Initially four of the company’s technical team will be based there but this number is expected to grow in 2015. In total the Doncaster headquartered firm employs 70 people across the UK.

TICS’ York-based operation director, Pete Coleman said: “The UK signalling market is expected to deliver a growth of over 30% in the next five years.

“As one of the leading players, we are ideally placed to maintain our exciting growth programme, and the move to Escrick Business Park represents a significant platform in our expansion plans.

“The quality of the space reflects our own commitment to excellence and the easy access of the location added to its appeal.”

TICS (Global) Limited is one of a number of businesses to sign up for the successful business park which features both office and warehousing units in a semi-rural setting.

Swanley based High Voltage Maintenance Services Ltd (HVMS) relocated its northern headquarters to Escrick last year and earlier this year leading international computer software and licensing company softwareONE, which has a global turnover of $1.5billion with offices across 50 countries worldwide, signed up for a new term at Escrick.

The park also provides the 10,000 sq ft headquarters for expanding renewable energy firm, Sumec UK.

S Harrison’s Phil Hill said: “We are seeing increasing interest in the handful of remaining warehousing and office units at Escrick, as business confidence returns. Growth businesses are looking for the kind of quality accommodation which reflects their own business ethos.

“On a practical level, easy access to the national road network, away from the congested York ring road, and generous parking provision add to Escrick Business Park’s appeal.”

Escrick Business Park features warehousing units from 1860 – 2600sq ft and office units from 1350 sq ft with leasehold and freehold options. Agents are MPC.
