She will be establishing accreditation for in-house courses and also developing new competency-based courses.

“I’m delighted to join SweetTree, an organisation that is committed to achieving excellence in both the services it provides and in its role as an employer,” said Audrey.

“There is an ongoing culture of learning across the organisation and I look forward to working closely with the team to develop this infrastructure further. Creating a culture of learning is not just about offering training, it is also about building and sustaining an environment that inspires and supports employees to pursue learning through diverse formats and methods.”

SweetTree has been awarded Investors in People Gold and is the only company of its kind to work with an independent advisory board, which guides and informs the company’s operations.

Barry Sweetbaum, SweetTree managing director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Audrey to the team. Her experience, drive and commitment in the area of professional development is second to none.

“At SweetTree our employees are our greatest asset and our learning and development programme is a top priority. We believe that providing a high quality care service begins with employing the best people and adopting a team approach to the provision of our services.”

Audrey has a degree in health studies from the Royal College of Nursing and holds a masters in medical anthropology at Brunel University and a post graduate diploma in education from Buckinghamshire New University. She is a member of a number of professional bodies including the Royal College of Nursing, Nurses and Midwifery Council and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, and was an elected member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Inflammatory Arthritis.
