Barratt North East wins four awards in national housebuilding competition
SITE managers working for the Barratt Group in the North East have scooped four coveted awards for their excellent standards of workmanship.
They have won Quality Awards in the Pride in the Job competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.
The four site managers are in charge at Barratt and David Wilson housing developments across the region.
They are: Kevin Anderson, site manager at The Limes, Coxhoe; Andy Dawson, The Rise, Scotswood, Newcastle; Graeme Simpson, Elba Park, Houghton-le-Spring; and Mark Summersgill, Grey Towers Village, Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough.
They will now go forward to the next round of the competition which is organised by the construction standard setting body, the National House-Building Council (NHBC).
The awards are the most coveted in the industry and are presented after the NHBC carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.
Almost 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
Scott Lester, Construction Director for Barratt and David Wilson Homes North East, said: “Once again our construction teams have shown they are among the best in the business.
“Site managers play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and these awards are not only official recognition of their skills and dedication, but give added reassurance to our buyers.”
Nationally, Barratt Group site managers won 90 Quality Awards this year.
