ParkCloud presented with Queen’s Award for Enterprise

ParkCloud is celebrating after having been formally presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

The six-year-old firm was given the prestigious award by the Queen’s representative for Greater Manchester, Lord-Lieutenant Warren Smith, at a ceremony held at the firm’s Wood Street offices on Friday, July 4th, also attended by Mayor of Stockport Kevin Hogg.

Started in 2008 by managing director Mark Pegler and fellow directors Joe Kennedy and Mark Pointon, the company scooped the accolade in the International Trade category. Today the business is a leading player in online parking reservations, trading in more than 35 countries across five continents, with a team that speaks over 25 languages. In the last three years, ParkCloud recorded international growth of more than 400%.

The firm works today with more than 900 car parks across the world, with a huge network in Europe, and expanding operations in the USA, Asia, Africa and South America.

Speaking during the ceremony, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester Mr. Smith highlighted the value of the achievement, stating: “It is not an award for the individual but the whole workforce. It represents determination and good communication and loyalty. One word encompasses it – teamwork.”

Speaking on the day about the win, Mr. Pegler said: “The prestige and value of the Queen’s Award has really been impressed upon our team today, further highlighting their achievement, and the success of the company as a whole. We’re also really pleased that our Mayor has been able to come down here today to support us, and we’re looking forward to the next five years with the of the emblem of the Awards backing ParkCloud.”
