Social media apprentice wanted at Blackburn's CV Vid
Blackburn CV video experts, CV Vid, has pledged to take on an apprentice from the UK’s first industry-led social media apprenticeship programme – and the deadline for young social media enthusiasts is fast approaching.
Applications for the social media apprentice role are being welcomed until 11th July ahead of a ‘boot camp’ selection day at The Juice Academy in Manchester.
The lucky applicant will then be based at CV Vid’s office in Blackburn while receiving training at The Academy.
Yasir Sufi, sales director, at CV Vid, said: “We have heard great things about The Juice Academy so we are very excited to be taking on a new social media apprentice. This is an unrivalled opportunity for bright young minds who live and breathe social media to utilise and develop their skills, while bringing fresh and imaginative ideas to our company.
“We value social media as a key force in attracting interest from prospective customers and positioning our brand as innovators in employment and careers education. The type of person we are looking for is someone with the ability to think outside the box, be creative and continually develop to help drive the business forward through these channels.”
Apprenticeships are constantly rising in popularity and new research* has found that over a quarter of apprentices are earning more than their graduate counterparts.
The Juice Academy opened its doors to its first cohort of apprentices in July 2013 and has since created nearly 40 jobs for young people in the North West. To date, The Academy has achieved a 100 per cent success rate, with all of its cohort one students securing permanent, full-time roles with their placement employers.
The brainchild of Manchester’s Tangerine PR, the Academy was launched to increase youth employment and fill an industry-wide skills gap by training young professionals in the practical application of social media.
Launched in 2012, CV Vid hosts a unique platform that allows job seekers to create their own CV video, helping them to stand out and increasing their chances of landing an interview.
Apprentices are trained in key skills such as social media management, developing content for social sharing, developing a digital strategy, keyword analysis and SEO, and social media for mobile. As part of their day-to-day roles, they play a key part in their employer’s social media strategy and bring to life the lessons learnt at The Juice Academy.
The Academy is currently recruiting its fifth cohort of apprentices, with apprenticeship roles up for grabs at a number of leading North West and national companies, including the world’s largest indoor trampoline park, Jump Nation; Vegas style casino, Manchester 235; promotional space managers, Bo-concepts; international humanitarian charity, Find A Better Way; estate agents, Miller Metcalfe; taxi firm, Street Cars Manchester; commercial PR agency and creative marketers, Cuckoo Design.
