Free event to help Newcastle businesses harness digital power

ENTREPRENEURS in Newcastle are being invited to learn how to use the internet to turbo-charge their businesses at a free event next week.

Go Digital Newcastle: Live! will bring together top-notch business advisers to give local small and medium-sized businesses cutting-edge information on topics including online marketing, cloud computing and social media.

The event, at Live Theatre, Broad Chare, Newcastle Quayside, on Wednesday 16 July from 9.30-4pm, will include a presentation from guest speakers Atlas Cloud, and also offer tips on video marketing and practical PR.

Organiser Suzy Jackson, Go Digital Newcastle project manager for BE Group, said: “The advisers will help companies health-check their businesses, assess their digital skills and review their web and technical usage.

“It’s great opportunity to come along and find out how you can make the most of the internet to give your business a real boost.”

Go Digital Newcastle is a government-funded initiative run by Newcastle City Council, which is rolling out superfast broadband availability to 97% of the city by Summer 2015.

Businesses in Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside can apply for a free voucher worth up to £3,000 to get connected to superfast broadband.

The Live! event is part of Go Digital Newcastle’s free business support programme, funded by ERDF, which provides eligible businesses with free masterclasses, workshops and one-to-one advice.
