North East commercial property agents secure major consultancy role

A firm of North East commercial property agent has been appointed in a development consultancy role on one of the region’s major industrial distribution parks.

International asset management company Hudson Advisors has retained industrial specialist HTA Real Estate to advise on design and build opportunities on three green field sites at Follingsby Park, Gateshead.

Newcastle-based HTA is already joint letting agent, with DTZ and GVA, for existing buildings on the industrial park.

Now, its brief will include sourcing prospective tenants for the undeveloped sites, which range in size from 3.12 to 8.97 acres.

Russell Taylor, director at HTA, who will lead the project, said: “The design and build market will undoubtedly gain momentum as the supply of good quality new buildings in the region diminishes.

“At Follingsby we can provide buildings from 52,500 sq ft to 161,000 sq ft to designs adapted to suit specific occupiers’ requirements.

Russell’s 13 years’ experience as development director at Easter Group makes him well placed to advise on all aspects of the development process.

“Follingsby’s superb location should prove attractive in the market, as it is close to both Washington and Gateshead via the A1M and A19,” he added.
