Southern hub on track

Europa Worldwide Logistics has taken a step closer to its state-of-the-art head office and Southern hub, now that a construction partner has been appointed.

In January, Europa one of the UK’s leading privately owned transport companies announced massive investment by signing a deal on a new headquarters and south of England hub at Prologis Park Littlebrook in Dartford. The new Southern hub complements its Northern hub at Prologis Park Midpoint in the West Midlands.

Europa has signed a lease agreement with Prologis, the leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, for the new 262,500 sq ft (24,387 sq mt) facility which will be built by Buckingham Group to meet Europa’s exact requirements and expanding operations. The new facility has been designed to achieve a minimum BREAAM 2011 ‘very good’ accreditation and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) CO2 Index rating of A-25 or better.

Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd has been appointed by Prologis as the design and build contractor. With the support of Stephen George & Partners (Architect) and RPS Group (Civil & Structural Engineers), construction works will start on site shortly, to provide:

A single storey warehouse/production unit having a clear height to underside of haunch of 15 metres of 204,294 sq ft Offices 34,459 sq ft Plant Rooms (2 levels) 866 sq ft Gatehouses 256 sq ft External site works including hardstanding, car parking, landscaping and drainage

The building is targeted to be operational in spring 2015 at which point All of Europa’s 230 staff based at the existing head office in Erith will move to Littlebrook.
