Flex runners get stuck in to raise money for NSPCC
Staff from Flextronics got stuck in to the JCB Mud Run recently, raising more than £850 in support of the NSPCC.
The Warrington-based supply chain company entered five teams of four runners in the event and sent them charging through a demanding five-mile assault course in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside.
The gruelling course consisted of climbs, slides, deep pools, giant haystacks, high walls, tunnels and, of course, plenty of mud!
Gary Smith, Sales Manager, from Flextronics who took part in the Mud Run, said: “The course was really tough at some points, especially with the mud weighing us down but the teams pulled together and it was a great day. We were all in need of a well-earned shower afterwards!”
One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the mud run will go to the NSPCC, which has been the main beneficiary of the event since it was introduced in 2012. The NSPCC is one of the largest charities preventing cruelty to children in the UK.
Flextronics’ Customer Services Manager Kim Hunt added: “The teams did a great job getting involved and raising money for the NSPCC and the amazing work they do. This is one of many charity events we are involved in this year and we’re pleased to have got our fundraising activity off to a fantastic start.”
