Sheffield’s SIG acquires French roofing business for €4.4 million
Sheffield-based SIG plc, a distributor of specialist building products in Europe, has announced that it has acquired Sodimat SAS, a specialist distributor of flat roofing products in France, based in Lyon, for €4.4 million in cash.
For the financial year ended 31 December 2013 Sodimat SAS made a profit before tax of €550 million. Gross assets were €1.4 million as at 31 December 2013.
This infill acquisition is in line with the Group’s strategy of expanding its French roofing business, Lariviere, in the South of France, and strengthening its offering in flat roofing, which SIG believes to be an attractive segment of the market.
Sodimat SAS is being sold by the Sitbon family, who founded the business.
