Event expert goes back to the future

An event expert’s future will be influenced by the past – after she landed a job working at three of Tyneside’s top visitor attractions.

Joanne Everett, 27, has been appointed as event co-ordinator for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, which manages retail, conference and events facilities for Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. In her new role she will be tasked with promoting venues such as Newcastle’s Discovery Museum, Laing Art Gallery and Great North Museum:Hancock, to corporate clients and event organisers looking for a unique place in which to hold a conference or event.

“All three venues give visitors a real insight into the past, yet are fully equipped to cater for everything from weddings, AGMs and even private lunch and dinner parties,” said Newcastle-based Joanne, originally from Kent.

“From an event point of view, the scope they offer is endless and they are all easily accessible for guests or delegates who, like me, are heading to Tyneside from outside the area.”

Joanne joins Sodexo Prestige having spent almost a decade working in various aspects of the hospitality sector after gaining a degree in Event Management from Canterbury Christchurch University.

“We are delighted to welcome Joanne and I know her enthusiasm and expertise will be a real asset to the team,” said Samantha Doyle, area sales manager for Sodexo Prestige.
