Delight as site manager selected for national award
Stockton-on-Tees builder is celebrating after one of its site managers was chosen as a first-round winner in the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
Stuart Galloway, who works for Persimmon Homes Teesside, was chosen for his outstanding work at The Elms on Buckthorn Crescent in Stockton-on-Tees.
He joins nearly 450 Quality Award winners who were chosen from around 15,000 entrants from across the country.
Pride in the Job is the only nationwide competition created to recognise the personal achievements of site managers in creating new homes of outstanding quality.
Neil Foster, managing director for Persimmon Homes Teesside, said: “It is fantastic news that Stuart was shortlisted. We work hard to get the right staff around us and it is great when you get confirmation that your staff are amongst the best.”
The first-round winners have been chosen after a year-long judging process and were assessed against strict criteria set by NHBC’s technical Standards for building new homes.
Mike Quinton, chief executive of NHBC, the UK’s leading standards setter and warranty provider for new UK homes, said: “For nearly 35 years, Pride in the Job has been a fundamental component of NHBC’s work to raise standards through the celebration and sharing of best practice. Our winners are at the forefront of the house-building recovery, making sure that quality is maintained and improved year on year, as they raise the bar for success in the competition.
“Site managers that win an NHBC Pride in the Job Award are building homes of an exceptionally good standard. The homes they build are without doubt among the best the UK has to offer, having been selected from around 15,000 other competitors for this prestigious accolade.”
The winners will now be shortlisted for regional titles which will be revealed in the autumn. The national Supreme Winner title in their category will be announced at the Pride in the Job Gala Final in London in January.
