Dell to Showcase Caterham F1 Car at CCS Media Technology Expo

Dell will showcase a Caterham F1 car at next month’s CCS Media Technology Expo to be held at Islington Business Design Centre, London on August 1st 2014.

In addition to seeing the cutting-edge sports car Dell will also be bringing a simulator of the vehicle to the Expo enabling the 2000+ exhibitors to experience driving an F1 car. Ian Clatworthy, Motorsport Solutions Executive at Dell and Senior IT Engineer Antony Smith will be delivering a key note break-out session giving the inside track on how Dell and Intel helped Caterham make the grid following their acceptance into Formula 1 in 2009 in just 22 weeks.

Speaking ahead of the Expo, CCS Media marketing director James Hardy commented: “The Caterham F1 car is a feat of modern information technology and a shining example of a plethora of IT systems. Visitors will be able to find out more about the technology that has gone into creating the car and speak with the people behind its creation. We are delighted that Dell is bringing one of the cars along and it is certain to prove popular with delegates.”

Dell will also be demonstrating its latest PowerEdge VTRX shared infrastructure platform on its stand. The award-winning solution integrates servers, storage, networking and management in a compact shared infrastructure optimised for office environments.

Hardy added: “While the car will be an obvious draw, PowerEdge VTRX is another fantastic innovation that many attendees will be keen to find out more about. The demos that Dell will be running will enable the IT decision makers in attendance to make an informed decision about whether or not it would be suitable investment for them in the coming year. Along with the many other innovations on display the Expo really is a one-stop-shop for all businesses IT requirements for the next 12 months.”

The Expo is free of charge and you can register for a pass to attend here: http://ccs.sym-online.com/Expo2014/ .
