Local produce celebrated at Cramlington’s first Foodie Festival
Food lovers from across the North East descended on Cramlington this weekend for the inaugural Cramlington Foodie Festival hosted at Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure.
The first Cramlington Foodie Festival, held at Northumberland’s largest retail and leisure destination on Saturday (July 19 2014), offered visitors the opportunity to indulge in quality local produce as they explored a variety of food and craft stalls.
Amongst the local food traders at the day-long festival were The Chirnells Farmhouse Kitchen, The Northumberland Sausage Company and The Chocolate Smiths, all of which offered a diverse range of produce.
A selection of Manor Walks’ retailers also served up some tasty treats, including Curiously Wicked, O’Briens Café, Coffee As You Like It, M&S Simply Food, Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Throughout the day visitors to Manor Walks enjoyed summer classics cooked up on the Cramlington Foodie Festival demonstration kitchen. Shoppers were able to watch, learn and get involved with the making of the dishes during the cooking sessions, while younger visitors were kept entertained with face painting.
Bruno Coppola, general manager at Manor Walks, said: “We were very excited to host Cramlington’s first-ever food festival right here at Manor Walks, which brought lots of new visitors to the centre. It has been great to work with so many of our retailers and local traders to celebrate quality food produced here in the North East.
“We always strive to reward our loyal customers with a variety of events to ensure there are surprises in their regular shopping trips and the Cramlington Foodie Festival certainly brought the feel-good factor to Manor Walks.
“It was fantastic to see so many people supporting the event and enjoying the range of food and craft stalls on offer in the heart of their community.”
With over 100 retailers including Northumberland’s only multiplex cinema and a great range of family restaurants and retailers, Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure in Cramlington offers a huge amount of choice to suit a range of tastes.
