Andrew Peddie, managing director of FHL Cloud Solutions, said:

“Internships have worked very well for us in the past as they are a great way of developing the right calibre of people for our business.

“My business partner, Darren Birt, got his degree and MBA from Stafford University so he knows the computer science department very well and we’ve had an excellent success rate with previous interns from the faculty.

“Keele is our local university and we were really keen to work with its students so we attended this year’s graduate fair. We’ve since discovered that the university has never placed so many students at one company, which is really encouraging to hear.”

Kingsley Burn is a team leader at FHL Cloud Solutions. He first joined the company as an intern while at Staffordshire University studying Computer Science.

Kingsley said:

“I had a fantastic time as an intern at FHL Cloud Solutions as I was exposed to all elements of the business - from the general day-to-day operations involved with running a business right through to the cloud computing consultancy provided to our clients.

“Whereas my university friends were at other companies making teas and coffees, I was made to feel a part of the team right from the very start and it was a real eye opener into the world of work!

“In fact, I had such a brilliant experience that I ended up staying an extra six months during my placement year and it was an absolute no-brainer that I wanted to return when I completed my degree.”
