New online library launched by Inspire to help businesses protect their assets

A new online library giving businesses instant access to risk management tools to enable them to protect their assets has gone live.

The virtual bookshelves are filled with nearly 1,000 categorised documents that provide up-to-date information for firms to better understand and manage their compliance and employment responsibilities.

Many of the downloadable documents, covering topics from health and safety to cyber liability, are available as templates so that they can be customised for companies to produce their own policies and manuals.

The library has been launched by independent commercial insurance broker Inspire Insurance Services, following the success of an online tool that it developed last year to help SMEs comply with health and safety legislation.

Leigh Mackey, managing director of Inspire Insurance Services based at Westwood Business Park in Coventry, said: “Around a third of our customers signed up to the initial online tool that we developed last year.

“Many SMEs are not able to employ a health and safety officer and even those that have an employee who is dedicated to that role found the support to be extremely beneficial.

“The response showed a definite demand for this type of resource so we have refined and expanded it to create an online library which contains a vast range of documents covering health and safety, compliance and employment matters.

“The main difference is that rather than us sending out the information to businesses, they can access exactly what they need and when to help protect their assets, minimise their risks and ultimately increase their bottom line.”

Cyber security and social media are among new additions to the risk management support, which have been introduced to help companies identify pitfalls of the digital age and understand existing threats and liabilities.

Educational materials such as newsletters, safety posters and presentations are also available for download to help inform employees about workplace hazards and promote a safer working environment.

The information is refreshed every week to enable businesses to keep up-to-date with legislative changes.

Leigh added: “The whole idea is to give businesses the tools they need to both identify and counter any shortfalls in their existing policies which can prove extremely costly in terms of claims, financial penalties and higher insurance premiums.

“It is another innovative step we have taken as a company to develop products that are tailored to the commercial needs of our clients and they are delivered in a modern approach that is underpinned with traditional values of service.”
