VW festival plans to raise the woof with chance to win classic car

When Volkswagen enthusiasts from all over the country descend on Harewood House in Leeds this month, not only will they be able to indulge in their greatest passion but they could also find themselves leaving with a classic car!

Visitors to the VW Festival 2014, being held on 16th and 17th August, will see thousands of VWs of all ages on display throughout the weekend, but if they play their cards right they could be driving away with first prize in this year’s raffle.

VW Festival 2014 are supporting the Dogs Trust by giving away a 1967 VW Beetle which is currently being restored by Herbie Hospital in Leeds, and all proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets goes directly to the Dog’s Trust.

Shane Beardsley, co-founder and festival organiser, said “We always try to wow the crowd with something to remember but this has to be the most spectacular yet. Anyone who loves VW loves Beetles will be bowled over with the chance to win a beautifully restored vintage”.

To compliment this they are also putting on loads of doggie related activities including the famous Dogcilla (Google it!), a dog show, agility display, and doggie dancing to music!

This is the 10th anniversary of the popular annual festival which attracted 16,500 visitors last year and this year its organisers are expecting an even better turnout.

Paul Scott, co-founder and festival organiser, said:“As you know this is our tenth anniversary year and thanks to our team of organisers and our sponsors it promises to be the best and biggest yet”.

Pre-booked tickets offer significant advantages when compared to tickets bought on the day, in particular children’s pre-booked tickets (under 16) are FREE if pre-booked with an adult ticket and they also benefit from Fast Track Entry.

Anyone taking part in the displays must have a pre-booked ticket.

Anyone wanting to camp overnight MUST pre-book their tickets. Campers attending for the full weekend can arrive on Friday 15th August and there will be entertainment on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Tickets are available from www.vwfestival.co.uk.
