Career opportunities for Lancashire supply teachers

Eight seasonal jobs have been created in Lancashire thanks to Preston-based home care provider, Community Life Choices.

The career opportunities, which are tailored for supply teachers by coinciding with the school summer holiday, follows substantial growth and contract wins.

Community Life Choices specialises in the provision of five-star home care to adults and children in need of personalised health and social care services.

Alan Frew, managing director at Community Life Choices, said: “With schools now on leave until early September, most supply teachers throw off their teaching robes and look for alternative roles to fill this void.

“From past experience we’ve found that teachers have an extremely similar skill set to carers, from sound behavioural management skills to being comfortable working in challenging environments.”

As well as personal care, Community Life Choices provides families with short breaks away from their carer role. This respite care helps to boost self-esteem and quality of life.

The company is offering supply teachers the opportunity to work as a personal assistant (PA).

Mr Frew continued: “Demand for our services has been so high and we’re committed to providing the best standard of care, which means recruiting the right people to deliver our morals and values.

“As a personal assistant you work closely with adults, children and their families to help build confidence and independence in the local community.”

Community Life Choices is looking for individuals with a patient temperament and positive attitude along with lots of energy and enthusiasm. The company will provide successful candidates with training as required.

As the major part of the role involves remote working, applicants will need their own form of transport.
