Hotel group expands range of dining Choice for guests
Blackpool-based Choice Hotels has invested £150,000 in a new restaurant at The Viking hotel on South Promenade, as part of an on-going investment programme in its five-strong property portfolio.
The 100-bedroom, adult exclusive hotel has created a stylish and contemporary dining room which features expansive sea views from its five large bay windows.
Styled by interior designer Gail Hunt, from Bispham-based Room, the restaurant has a simple theme, creating a relaxing and restful environment with natural tones, textured soft furnishings and metallics to provide contrast and a contemporary feel.
The restaurant has introduced a buffet-style service with the installation of three marble-topped open serving areas, which will hold both hot and cold self-service starters and desserts.
Eddie Nelder, director at Choice Hotels, said: “The Viking is a popular hotel which offers a child-free oasis for those seeking a relaxing break, and this is reflected in our new-look dining room.
“The hotel enjoys a loyal clientele and we continually invest in our properties to keep them coming back and to attract new custom.
“The creation of the buffet-style dining at our family-friendly hotel, The Cliffs, last year was extremely successful, so we have introduced it at The Viking.
“We are constantly seeking ways to improve our offer and this buffet-style service allows guests to see the wide range of dishes available and help themselves to as much or little as they like. Our team of 7 chefs cook everything from scratch and this system makes their hard work pay off.
“Blackpool is an exciting place to be at the moment, there is massive investment in promoting the resort to a wider audience and people are falling in love with the English seaside again.
“In order to stand out in this competitive market, Choice needs to be continually innovating and investing to maintain our position as a leading provider of good value, high quality accommodation across all three of our properties in the town.”
The Choice Hotels Blackpool group includes The Cliffs, The Claremont and The Viking, which offer families and couples affordable all-inclusive breaks.
The group also has two hotels in the Lake District - The Patterdale, which provides an excellent base for walkers close to the village of Glenridding, and The Keswick Country House Hotel, which is located in the centre of the town and nearby shops, pubs and restaurants.
