PR and communications firm takes on new recruit
Following a surge in demand for its services, a PR and communications agency has hired a new consultant to help sustain its continued growth.
Trumpet Communications Ltd., owned by Anna Baxter, acquired four new clients in the first half of the year with another client contract starting in August. To cater for this growth, PR and marketing consultant Jodie Balmer will provide support to Trumpet Communications in terms of both existing clients and helping to secure new business in both Yorkshire and the North East.
Anna said: “I’m delighted to have Jodie on board as we really start to focus on growing the business and our team. I established Trumpet in 2012 with the ambition to grow it steadily on my own until such a time came where I needed more help, and that time has now come, especially on the PR front.
“By taking on contractors like Jodie, we can remain flexible in terms of the geographic locations we cover and keep our overheads and costs lower than a traditional agency, which is obviously great news for our clients. They literally get all the agency know-how without the agency costs or lengthy retainers.
“The team now consists of five experienced consultants across PR, internal communications, web design, digital, marketing, branding and social media, so we’re growing not only in numbers but also in terms of our capability and sector-specific credentials.”
With the addition of Jodie to the team, Trumpet Communications can now add healthcare, music and digital to its growing list of specialist industries. Others include public transport, hospitality, financial services, manufacturing and both residential and commercial property.
Jodie said on her appointment: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team at Trumpet. Anna has a clear strategy for growing the business and a real passion for delivering affordable and effective campaigns, whether it’s a PR campaign or delivering an internal communications initiative. My experience also means I can tap into other projects which come along and input into areas such as SEO, events, design and marketing, so there’s a lot more for me to get my teeth into than just the PR side of things.
“We are now working hard to win new business in both Yorkshire and the North East, trying to focus on the things that make us a little different, like being a completely mobile workforce and giving our clients the option to have us work on site at their premises or remotely.
“One of my first priorities is writing and optimising the new Trumpet website which will go live in September to really help us sell the business, our USPs and the great team that is now in place.
“I’m very much looking forward to playing a vital part in the future success of the business and helping to shape how it evolves in the coming months.”
Trumpet Communications’ growing portfolio incudes: £300m housing regeneration scheme, Gateshead Regeneration Partnership (GRP), global insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher, industrial cooling and ventilation specialist ICS Cool Energy, copy and document management firm Arena Group, Leeds-based restaurant LivinItaly, award-winning restaurant Scotts of Helmsley, children’s cancer charity, Little Heroes, and Team Valley-based Access Training.
