Car dealer celebrates two years in Durham with £2 million investment
A car group is celebrating two successful years in the city with a £2 million investment in its Durham branch.
Bristol Street Motors added its Ford Durham dealership to its portfolio with the acquisition in July 2012.
Durham County Council recently granted planning permission to demolish the current showroom and some offices on Carrville High Street, Durham City, and develop a new showroom, refurbish the workshops and reconfigure the parking and sales areas.
The Durham dealership now employs more than 40 colleaguesand will continue to trade throughout the renovations.
General Manager Martin Boagey said: “After more than 40 years with a dealership on the site the proposed refurbishment and new build work reinforce our commitment to being a major economic presence in Carville and County Durham.
“This substantial long-term investment will safeguard jobs, enhance the safety of the site and improve the working and sales environment both internally and externally.
“It has been a hugely enjoyable and very successful two years. The dealership is thriving with sales growing and the ethos of excellent customer service has built Bristol Street Motors a strong and positive reputation.”
