Storage firm is boxing clever
A North East storage company has boosted its management team as it gears up for its busiest time of the year.
Graduate Michael Granger has been appointed business manager at Box Clever to grow its portfolio of services which include vehicle and caravan storage and the rental of storage units.
Last year, Box Clever invested £60,000 in state-of-the-art security system at its premises in Billingham and has experienced an encouraging 2014 particularly from people looking to create more space in their homes.
Michael, who is 24 and from Stockton, said: “There has been a marked increase in interest in our storage units and that’s reflected in a more buoyant housing market. People seem to be on the move again and need storage when they are moving house or even down-sizing.
“It’s a busy period with the caravans leaving for the summer and then back onto the site in the autumn. The fact we now have 24-hour access and security means Box Clever has never been safer.”
Michael graduated with a 2:1 in Business Management from Northumbria University and has previous experience working in stock control and inventory management for logistics companies. He has been tasked with driving new customers to Box Clever as well as developing new services.
His predecessor, Michael Heaton has been promoted to the role of transport manager for Box Clever’s parent company Nicholson’s Transport.
The Box Clever facility has capacity for up to 500 caravans with security features including automated gate access operated by key fobs, an enhanced CCTV system and flood lighting. Its storage units come in various sizes and are hired by all kinds of customers including students, businesses for filing of old documents, homeowners, market traders, rock bands and vintage car and motorcycle enthusiasts.
Michael Granger added: “There have been incidents when storage facilities have been broken into but Box Clever has the CaSSOA gold standard for security to bring confidence and peace of mind to our customers.
“ÂI am really looking forward to my new role with Box Clever as there is a lot of potential to develop new services as the market changes. It’Âs great to be in a job where I can meet and interact with people and it’Âs very encouraging to see that Box Clever is a business on the move and long may that continue.”
