Gateshead FC sign sponsorship deal with intu Metro Centre
Gateshead football club has cause to celebrate before the new season kicks off – thanks to a sponsorship deal with the region’s biggest shopping centre.
intu Metrocentre has become the home shirt sponsor of Gateshead FC for the first time, fulfilling a long held ambition by the club to work with the shopping giant .
The centre will not only have its logo featured on the shirts but will also work in partnership with the club on its community engagement.
Graham Wood, chairman of Gateshead FC: “We are absolutely delighted to have intu Metrocentre on board. To be supported by such a high profile organisation and one of the region’s biggest employers is fantastic for us.
“It’s also the perfect fit because not only are we both based in Gateshead but also because supporting and working with the community is an important objective for both of us.
“We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
Gavin Prior, General Manager of intu Metrocentre added that working with the club showed the centre’s commitment to supporting local organisations. “We know what a successful season Gateshead FC had last year and we hope to see them go on to even bigger and better things this year
“We are sure this relationship will continue to grow and develop and we look forward to actively working with the club going forward.”
The intu Metrocentre sponsored shirts will be seen for the first time this Saturday (August 9th) at the International Stadium, when Gateshead take on Torquay United on the opening day of the new Conference season.
