Uncovering IPO: an Entrepreneurs’ Forum event with a panel of experts

This event will trace the journey of three North East-based businesses from the pre-IPO stage to their final placement on the Alternative Investment Market within the last two years.

It will provide a fascinating insight into the IPO process and the inspiration, know-how and shared experience to help others considering going public.

Floating raised millions of pounds for the three entrepreneur-founded businesses, which is being reinvested in people, production capacity, product development, infrastructure and acquisition.

The panel will be in conversation with Martin Hulls, of Ward Hadaway, to discuss some of the fundamental issues any company needs to consider when choosing to take the IPO route:

Is it right for me? What preparation do I need to do? What about the team around me? What can we expect for the future?

Our panellists include:

Geoff Thompson: Utilitywise issued its IPO on AIM two years ago and has since seen impressive growth, in April recording a 105 per cent in revenues to £21m and a 110 per cent increase in gross profits to £9m.

Dr Max Robinson: Established with angel finance 11 years ago, Kromek Group was valued at £55m when it debuted on AIM last October.

Oliver Lightowlers: Initially developed at the University of Durham, award-winning Applie Graphene Materials raised £11m last November by floating on AIM.

The panel discussion will conclude with a Q&A when guests can pose questions, followed by informal networking and light refreshments.
