Local site manager wins award in national housebuilding competition

A site manager working for local housebuilder Barratt Homes at its development in Brampton Bierlow, Meadow Walk, has scooped a prestigious award in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.

Ade Arnold has gained official recognition for the excellence of which he runs his development with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Ade is joined by site managers working for Barratt Group across the UK, which have scooped 90 awards for quality workmanship.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body National House-Building Council (NHBC) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Almost 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

Ade will now go forward to the final round of the competition, which will select the best site manager in Britain.

Darren Johnson, Construction Director for Barratt Yorkshire West, comments, “The official recognition of the jobs which our winning site managers are doing, shows that Barratt Yorkshire West is building some of the best quality homes in the country.

“The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and that is why we are so delighted with these two national awards.

“This is truly an outstanding result and one which should inspire confidence in our buyers.”

Ade commented: “It’s great that I’ve won and it’s a fantastic achievement for Barratt Yorkshire West. We have won because of the team effort we have put into the development on site and it’s thanks to the subcontractors and all the guys I work with on site.”
