Stafford Land Rover rebuild taking shape

Stafford Land Rover’s state of the art new dealership is taking shape, and is on course for a November completion. Construction workers broke ground at the three acre site just off junction 14 of the M6 in April, and since then work has continued at a rapid pace.

This week Darren Poole, Dealer Principal at Stafford Land Rover, confirmed that the structure was up and the insulation cladding on in what will be the first of a new concept Land Rover dealerships.

Darren said: “The structure is really beginning to take shape now, and we have had a lot of interest in the new site, with questions from curious customers.

“We are on course for a November completion following a 40 week build and fit out. Hopefully we should be fully operational at the new site by January, but that will be governed by our directors.”

Stafford Land Rover is part of the family owned Swansway Group, and the £6m investment is the biggest ever by the group – a strong demonstration of its confidence in the Land Rover brand.

Darren added: “This is such an exciting time for Stafford Land Rover. Our new premises will be a state of the art, modern dealership with a bigger showroom and high tech workshop. We will be creating jobs as we look to strengthen our sales team and take on new apprentice technicians.”

Darren has led the team at the Astonfields Road dealership since Swansway Group bought Stafford Land Rover in July 2012.

Prime Point 14 lies immediately next to the M6 at Junction 14 and forms part of a strategic greenfield site of 128 acres (51.82ha) with mixed use consent.

Crewe based Swansway Group is a family owned and run business that has been in the motor trade for more than 48 years, and currently represents nine different brands. The group has appeared in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for Top 100 for the last four years.
